Unbearable Memories, Unspeakable Histories - Partition Museum

Virtual 3D Exhibition

The “Borders and Boundaries Redefined” art exhibition presents a broad interpretation about how we define space, whether the literal borders in art, or the arbitrary lines delineating physical spaces such as states and countries, or the symbolic boundaries that separate self from others. The artists in the show explore how we define borders, stretching the confines and constrictions that often come with “staying in the lines.”

The artists in this exhibition explore the shape, form, and impact of borders and boundaries, whether they be geographical, psychological, communal, personal, hostorical, or artistic. The exhibition builds on the ability of artists to redefine and expand on traditional understandings of borders and boundaries in visuall creative ways.

Juried by artist and curator, Pritika Chowdhry, the exhibition was presented at The Art Center of Highland Park in Chicago, from August 11, 2023 – September 23, 2023.

It is now housed as a virtual 3D exhibitions in the Online Partition Museum, which you can view and walk through.
